You hold SAS EuroBonus Gold or Diamond. That SkyTeam Elite Plus status is a bargaining chip — and right now, two confirmed offers let you turn it into Oneworld lounge access on British Airways, Qatar Airways, and Cathay Pacific. One of them closes April 23.
TL;DR
If you hold SAS EuroBonus Silver, Gold, Diamond or Pandion, you can match your status to Finnair Plus right now — deadline April 23, 2026 Finnair Plus Gold gives you Oneworld Sapphire: lounge access on British Airways, Qatar Airways, Cathay Pacific, American Airlines, and more — worldwide Gold members typically receive four upgrade vouchers that let you fly Finnair business class at economy prices Royal Jordanian offers a second path to Oneworld Sapphire for $149, available year-round to Swedish and Danish residents United MileagePlus may accept EuroBonus for a Star Alliance match, but this is not explicitly confirmed — apply at your own risk We only include offers we have verified. No guesswork.
Most status match guides list every offer from every airline. We do it differently. This guide answers one specific question: you have SkyTeam status through SAS EuroBonus — where can you actually use it? Every offer below has been verified against the airline's published terms. Where something is unconfirmed, we say so clearly. We update this guide as new campaigns launch.
Status: ACTIVE — Deadline April 23, 2026 This is the best status match available to EuroBonus members right now. Finnair is actively recruiting SAS loyalists into Oneworld with a free match campaign. What You Get
EuroBonus Gold, Diamond or Pandion → Finnair Plus Gold (Oneworld Sapphire)
Oneworld Sapphire gives you business class lounge access on every Oneworld carrier worldwide. That means British Airways lounges, Qatar Airways lounges, Cathay Pacific lounges, American Airlines Admirals Clubs, Qantas lounges — the full network of 15 airlines. On top of that, Finnair Plus Gold members receive four one-way upgrade vouchers. These let you upgrade from Economy to Business on Finnair-operated flights. You can use them on short-haul European routes or combine them for long-haul upgrades. Previous status match participants have confirmed receiving these vouchers. Helsinki to Tokyo in business class, at an economy price — that is the kind of value we are talking about. Additional Gold benefits include priority check-in and boarding on all Oneworld airlines, extra checked baggage (Finnair includes a bag even on their cheapest fares), and an 8x Avios earning multiplier on Finnair flights. Your matched status is valid for the remainder of your current Finnair Plus tracking period plus the following 12 months. For new accounts, this means approximately 12-24 months of Oneworld status. Cost Breakdown The match itself is free. Your only cost is the qualifying Finnair flight. Return flights between Stockholm and Helsinki start around €120-180 in Economy Light. A one-way ticket is enough to qualify, starting from around €75. That means: for roughly €100-180, you get 12+ months of worldwide Oneworld lounge access plus four business class upgrade vouchers. Important Notes

Status: ACTIVE — No published end date (can be pulled at any time) If you missed the Finnair deadline or want Oneworld status without booking a flight, Royal Jordanian offers a paid shortcut. This is the quickest path to Oneworld Sapphire available — no flights required, just a fee. What You Get

The Gold Sparrow match is the one worth considering. Oneworld Sapphire gets you into British Airways lounges, Qatar Airways lounges, Cathay Pacific lounges, and notably American Airlines Admirals Clubs and Flagship Lounges — even on domestic US flights if you are flying an Oneworld carrier. Requirements
Royal Jordanian accepts status from a broad range of non-Oneworld carriers The published eligible list includes SkyTeam carriers (Air France Flying Blue, KLM, Delta SkyMiles, and others) and Star Alliance carriers SAS EuroBonus is not explicitly named on the current list, but SkyTeam partner programs are accepted. We recommend applying and referencing your SkyTeam Elite Plus status. You must be a resident of an eligible country
Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Iraq, Italy, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Netherlands, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Syria, Turkey, UAE, and the UK. Both Sweden and Denmark are eligible. Norway, Finland, and Iceland are currently NOT on the list. How to Apply

Status: ACTIVE through June 30, 2026 — but EuroBonus eligibility is NOT explicitly confirmed United runs one of the most generous status match challenges in the industry. The match is open to "elite members of most major competing airlines" and includes international programs. However, SAS EuroBonus is not explicitly named on United's published eligible list. We include this because multiple sources indicate United accepts a broad range of programs, and travelers with SkyTeam status have reported successful matches. But we cannot guarantee your application will be approved. What You Would Get (If Approved)
EuroBonus Gold → Premier Gold (Star Alliance Gold) EuroBonus Diamond/Pandion → Premier Platinum or Premier 1K (Star Alliance Gold)
Star Alliance Gold gives you lounge access on Lufthansa, Swiss, ANA, Singapore Airlines, Turkish Airlines, and all other Star Alliance carriers worldwide. How It Works United's match is a three-step process: Step 1 — Application: Submit proof of your current status through united.com/premier/status-match. Processing takes 7-14 business days. Step 2 — Activating Flight: Once approved, you have 90 days to take one flight on United or United Express. This activates your temporary status. Step 3 — Challenge Period: Your status is active for 120 days from the activating flight. During this period, you must earn the following to keep it permanently:
Premier Gold: 10 PQF + 3,400 PQP Premier Platinum: 15 PQF + 5,000 PQP Premier 1K: 20 PQF + 7,500 PQP
PQP = Premier Qualifying Points (roughly $1 per dollar spent on base fare, excluding taxes) Timing Matters If you complete the challenge before July 1, 2026: status valid through January 2027. If you complete the challenge after July 1, 2026: status valid through January 2028. This means you should aim to complete the challenge in the second half of 2026 for maximum value — potentially 18+ months of Star Alliance Gold. Key Restrictions
Status must be earned through flying, not through a previous match PQF must come from United or United Express flights only — partner flights do not count PQP can come from United flights OR eligible United co-branded credit card spending Basic Economy tickets earn PQP but do NOT earn PQF If you fail the challenge, your status expires and you cannot reapply for 3 years
The match itself is free, but the challenge requires significant United flying. For Premier Gold (Star Alliance Gold), you need 10 flights and roughly $3,400 in spend. For a Nordic traveler, that likely means several transatlantic round trips on United — which is realistic only if you already fly to the US regularly. Why We Flag This as Unconfirmed United's published list of eligible programs includes many international carriers, but the full list is only visible within the application form. Multiple travel blogs state that the list is "more extensive" than what is published. We have not found a confirmed data point of an EuroBonus holder successfully matching to United in 2026. If you try it, please report your experience below — it helps everyone. Source United's status match page: united.com/en/us/fly/mileageplus/premier/status-match.html
If you hold EuroBonus Gold or Diamond, here is how to leverage your single SkyTeam membership into dual (or triple) alliance coverage: You already have: SkyTeam Elite Plus via EuroBonus. Lounge access on Air France, KLM, Delta, Korean Air, Virgin Atlantic, and 13 other SkyTeam airlines. Add Oneworld via Finnair Plus (free, deadline April 23) or Royal Jordanian ($149). Lounge access on British Airways, Qatar Airways, Cathay Pacific, American Airlines, Japan Airlines, and 10 other Oneworld airlines. Optionally add Star Alliance via United (unconfirmed, requires significant flying commitment). Lounge access on Lufthansa, Swiss, ANA, Singapore Airlines, Turkish Airlines, and 21 other Star Alliance airlines. Result: Worldwide lounge access on virtually every major airline, starting from a single EuroBonus membership and a €100-180 Finnair booking.
"Earned status" requirement. Most programs require that your status was earned through actual flying or spending. If your EuroBonus status was itself obtained through a status match, subsequent match applications may be rejected. Finnair and Royal Jordanian both have language about this in their terms. EuroBonus is merging with Flying Blue. Air France-KLM's acquisition of SAS is expected to close in the second half of 2026. EuroBonus may be folded into Flying Blue, potentially changing your status tier or benefits. Matching your status now, while EuroBonus still exists as an independent program, is a smart hedge. Timing the Finnair match. The booking deadline is April 23, but you can fly through September 30. Book the flight now to secure eligibility, then fly when it suits you. Your status activates before you fly. Royal Jordanian country restrictions. The eligible countries list can change. Sweden and Denmark are currently included. Norway, Finland, and Iceland are not. Check the current list at rj.statusmatch.com before applying.
Can I match my EuroBonus status to both Finnair and Royal Jordanian? Yes. They are separate programs and separate applications. You would end up with EuroBonus (SkyTeam) + Finnair Plus (Oneworld) + Royal Jordanian (Oneworld). Having two Oneworld memberships is redundant but having both Finnair's upgrade vouchers and Royal Jordanian's no-commitment status could be useful. I have EuroBonus Silver. Is it worth matching? Finnair Plus Silver gives you Oneworld Ruby — priority boarding and extra baggage, but no lounge access. It is a modest upgrade. The real value starts at Gold (Oneworld Sapphire with lounge access). Will my EuroBonus points transfer to Finnair? No. A status match transfers your tier benefits, not your points balance. Your EuroBonus points remain in EuroBonus. You start at zero Avios in Finnair Plus. What happens when my matched Finnair status expires? You revert to Finnair Plus Basic unless you earn enough tier points to maintain your status through regular Finnair flying. There is an unofficial "soft landing" policy where Finnair sometimes downgrades you by only one tier instead of dropping to Basic, but this is not guaranteed. Can I use Finnair upgrade vouchers on codeshare flights? No. Upgrade vouchers are valid on scheduled Finnair flights with an AY flight number, operated by Finnair or Norra. They cannot be used on partner-operated flights. I live in Norway — can I do the Finnair match? The current campaign requires a Finnair Plus account registered in Sweden and flights to/from Sweden. Previous campaigns had broader eligibility. If you have a Swedish address or can register with one, you may qualify — but verify with Finnair directly.
